ABOUT

Main bio

I'm a product leader who gets a little too excited about the first five minutes of a product ✨ the signup, the identity check, that moment someone finally does the thing they came to do. I care about the drop-off nobody owns, and about AI that knows when to stop. 🤖

I've spent ten years in product across fintech, marketplaces and mobility, in the UK and across Africa. Along the way I've built payments platforms, marketplaces and onboarding flows used by more than 100,000 businesses.

Most of my work sits in the first mile: signup, KYC, activation and the first transaction. It's where good products quietly lose people, and where small fixes pay back the most. Lately I've been building AI products, and spending most of my time on the unglamorous part: what the agent may decide alone, how you test it, and what happens when it's wrong.

Right now I'm building side projects at the weekend, like Moma, an AI companion for pregnancy, and writing up the decisions behind them here.
When I'm not shipping, I'm teaching product at BrainStation or mentoring on ADPList. Explaining a thing is the fastest way I know to find out I don't understand it yet.

Story

Start with the first five minutes

Before a roadmap, I want to watch someone sign up. Where they hesitate, what they misread, the step where they give up. Most growth problems are first-mile problems in disguise.

trust before features.

Let experiments argue

At Bolt I owned the booking funnel. Instead of debating opinions, we ran large-scale experiments and kept what moved: conversion up 15%, bookings up 24%, trip completion up 12%, cancellations down 7%.

let the data argue.

Know where authority ends

With AI, being right most of the time isn't enough. I design what the system may do alone, what needs a human, and how it fails safely. Evaluation is part of the product, not a side task.

boring rules beat clever guesses.

Teach it to learn it

Teaching product at BrainStation since 2023 keeps me honest. If I can't explain why a decision was right to a room of new PMs, it probably wasn't.

if I can't explain it, I don't get it yet.
